About Collective Thoughts Psychotherapy

Karen Szabo

Founder

I am a compassionate and empathetic psychotherapist dedicated to providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can speak freely and feel truly heard. My goal is to create an environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, while I support and guide you toward greater self-awareness, empowerment, and emotional well-being.

I work from a holistic, client-centred approach, tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals. Whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, maternal mental health challenges, relationship concerns, or periods of stress, I adapt therapy to meet you where you are. I integrate evidence-based techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

My passion for psychotherapy comes from both professional training and personal experience. Having faced my own struggles with mental health, self-compassion, and empowerment, I understand the courage it takes to seek support. I believe in therapy as a collaborative process, reminding you that you are not alone, and that meaningful healing and growth are possible with the right support.

Our Beginnings

A Foundation

Collective Thoughts Psychotherapy was born out of a personal understanding of how powerful therapy can be. Having experienced my own journey with mental health, I wanted to create a space where compassion, collaboration, and consistency guide every interaction. My goal was simple: to offer a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and never alone in their struggles.

This clinic reflects my belief that healing happens in partnership. By combining professional expertise with genuine human connection, Collective Thoughts is built on the idea that therapy works best when we walk the path together. Here, you’ll find not only evidence-based approaches but also a strong therapeutic alliance you can trust—because meaningful change grows from both skill and empathy.
